Sani Mohammed Dangoggo, Ph.D. began his University career as a lecturer in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Science Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto where he teaches Chemistry. He was born on 26th January, 1961 in Dogondaji, Tambuwal Local Government, Sokoto State. After his Primary School Education, he proceeded to Federal Government College, Odogbolu (Ogun State) in 1974. He attended University of Sokoto (Now Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto) where he obtained a First class Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Chemistry (1984). He then proceeded to University of Ibadan where he obtained Master of Science in Organic Chemistry (1987) and earned his Ph. D. in Applied Chemistry from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 2001. Professor Dangoggo joined the services of Usmanu Danfodiyo University in 1985 as Graduate Assistant and became a Professor of Chemistry in 2005.

Professor S.M. Dangoggo was Acting Vice Chancellor, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (10th February, 2009 to 19th July, 2009), Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. (10th August, 2007-9th August, 2011), University Central Coordinator, Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) (1991‑2005), Director of Academic Planning UDUS, (2001-2005), Deputy Director of Academic Planning UDUS, (April 2000 –January, 2001), He also served as the Chairman of University Special Committee on Water and Electricity Supply, (2001-2002), University Interim Committee on Financial Estimates (2001-2002), Taskforce on the Fencing of University Houses at Runjin Sambo, (2001-2002), University Committee on the Provision of Telephone and Internet (2001- 2002) anong others. He was the Head of Applied Chemistry Unit, October (2000-2006), Head, Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, April (2005-2006), Director, Academic Planning and Control IBB University, Lapai (2006-2007), Head, Department of Chemistry IBB University, Lapai (2006-2007) and currently the Vice Chancellor, Sokoto State University, Sokoto.

Professor Dangoggo has authored two books and have over 100 papers published in journals in the area; of Natural Products Chemistry and Biofuels.

He is a member, Solar Energy Society of Nigeria, Chemical Society of Nigeria, Science Teachers Association of Nigeria, Royal Society of Chemistry (London) and a Chartered Chemist, Science Association of Nigeria (SAN), Fellow, Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON), Fellow, Solar Energy Society of Nigeria, (FSESN).

Professor Dangoggo has supervised over 60 M.Sc. and M.Phil. Dissertations and Ph.D. Thesis in the related fields and serve as external examiner to Twelve (12) Tertiary Institutions. He is married with children.
