The Equipment Maintenance Centre (EMC), Sokoto State University, Sokoto was established in 2020 and administratively placed under the office of the Vice Chancellor to provide technical support services that include installation, maintenance and repairs to the various equipment supplied to the University for its operations. The main objective of the centre is the development, procurement, installation and management of the University equipment. The centre is made up of three operational units which include:
1. Electrical and Electronics Unit
2. Mechanical and Installation Unit
3. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Unit
The mission of Equipment Maintenance Centre (EMC), Sokoto State University is to assist the Vice Chancellor in the process of procurement of teaching, research and administrative equipment in the University. The centre ensures proper specifications prior to the procurement of teaching and research equipment. It also assists the University in getting best branded equipment to avoid the purchase of lower standard and fake equipment. EMC confirms proper installations and train staff on the usage of equipment delivered to the University. Such type of trainings provide user with the proper knowledge of the equipment, principles and operational technique for effective usage.
