SSU PRO-CHANCELLOR, AMBASSADOR ABUBAKAR SANI, 3 OTHERS RECEIVE FUBK DOCTORATE DEGREES

The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has confered honarary doctorate degree on a technocrat, seasoned and admistrator and elder state man, Ambassador (Dr.) Abubakar Muhammad Sani, OON (Makaman Sokoto), Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Sokoto State University.Ambassador Sani received the award during the maiden combined convocation ceremony of FUBK that took place on Saturday, 12th October, 2024, alongside the business Mogul, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, OFR; former governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari; and Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, OFR, Chairman, Zinox Group.During the occasion, the Pro-Chancellor, who was represented by Alh. Yusuf Muhammad Sani Makama, was presented with Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa).

According to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. M. Z. Umar, the award was in recognition of Makama's tremendous contribution in the take-off and subsequent transformation of the University and tremendous contribution to the society.Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of Sokoto State University, Prof. Mohammed Bello Yerima, FNSM, FBSN, who was among the entourage of the awardee, described the honour as well deserving. He, therefore, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Staff and the entire students of the University congratulated the Pro-Chancellor.Prof. Yerima has similarly expressed the institution's warm appreciation to the Federal University Birnin for finding Ambassador Abubakar Sani worthy for the award. The Pro-Chancellor was accompanied to the occasion by the Registrar of the University, Hajiya Kuluwa Abubakar Nuhu; Prof. Bello D. Bada, a member of the University Governing Council; Dr. Ibrahim M. M. Furfuri, University Librarian; Dr. Ibrahim Isa and Ababakar Abdullahi Achida, Council members.Others were Prof. Aliya Adamu Ahmad of the Department of Nigerian Languages and Mal. Nasiru Bello Gandi, Council Affairs Officers.
