Postgraduate Studies

A wide range of graduate programs leading to Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees are offered.The SSU postgraduate school offers a lot of programs ranging from postgraduate diploma to PhD programs. The programs are hosted and managed by the various departments in the faculties and schools of the university. The school of postgraduate studies is responsible for overseeing, processing, and coordinating matters regarding admissions, assistantships, thesis proposals and defences, supervisions, and examinations, subject to the by-laws of the university and the regulations laid down by the university senate. There are currently over one thousand students enrolled in the school of postgraduate studies.The Institute serves to maintain quality in graduate education by adapting universally accepted academic principles and criteria.

Requirements

All candidates for admission into Postgraduate programmes must provide records of Academic Transcripts and must have met matriculation requirements.

Candidates for admission into Ph.D. programmes shall have a Masters degree in relevant areas with CGPA of not less than 3.0 on a scale of 5.0.
Candidates for admission into Masters degree programmes shall have a minimum of Second Class Lower degree in the relevant areas. Postgraduate Diploma or Third Class degree (with at least five (5) years cognate work experience) from any recognized University may be considered.
Candidates for admission into Postgraduate Diploma programmes should possess the following:

Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant area.
Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant area.
Third Class degree in relevant area.
Qualifications other than i and ii above which are acceptable to the University.

Click on Start New Application button to create account with us, fill in the required information and click on Register button
Use your Username & Password to login to the portal
After that, you will be required to upload your passport and signature
Click on Generate Invoice Button then click on Confirmed & Generate a Customized Unified Payment Reference ID will be generated
Click on Pay Now or payarena web Button to make instant payment or print your invoice and proceed to any of the bank on the invoice to make payment
After payment login to your account an application number will be generated
Update your biodate, O-level and A-level records
Upload your academic certificates
Enter the details of 3 referee on the form provided
Research Proposal for Ph. D Applicants only
Click on final Submission button Note: once you click on final submission you cannot edit your record again
Print your form and acknowledge slip for record purposes

Sokoto State University Postgraduate Admission Notice for the 2024/2025 Academic Session

We are pleased to inform the general public, especially candidates who applied for admission into the postgraduate programmes at Sokoto State University for the 2024/2025 academic session, that the first batch of admissions has been released.
Successful candidates can verify their names on the attached list or by visiting the Postgraduate School's website at www.pgs.ssu.edu.ng.
All admitted candidates are required to:

1. Pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of N10,000.

2. Present themselves at the Postgraduate School with their original credentials for screening and issuance of an admission confirmation letter.

Screening Date: Thursday, 24th October 2024.
